Terrorism Mess in Pakistan - from Origin to Solution

By: Shah Zalmay Khan
.
Pakistan is in a grave mess of terrorism for the last many many years. Questions, questions, questions is all we have.
What is this terrorism? Why? Who is doing? Since when? Till when? What can be done? Who will do it? When? To talk? To fight? Answers, answers, answers is what we all seek. Talks, Operations, Talks, Operations - the situation flip flops at regular interval. The Pakistani nation, politicians, govt and security agencies seem confused about the issue & Boy what a deadly confusion this is: cost us thousands of lives already.
.
.
What is reality? Having seen this monster of militancy & terrorism literally take birth & grow up in front of my eyes (as a FATA tribesman), I thought it imperative to convey a tribesman's version on the issue. Hence this 4-part article which tries to analyse the issue in a wholesome manner, with reference to its peculiar near-past bits, present dynamics and possible future outcomes; an attempt at answering the many WHATs, WHYs, WHOs, WHENs.
Since I am a PTI supporter, there may be instances where politically-oriented references are made. Ignore if you don't like them. Also in part-4 of the article a rough draft containing salients of a possible Peace & Security Policy is given. I won't say this article or the draft are anything close to perfect. However, I can say this much:
Ab jis ke Jee me aaye wohi paaye Roshni,
Hum ne to Dil Jala ke Sar-e-Raah rakh diya. :)
So here we go........
